  Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Clean and prepare construction sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment. Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Assist other craft workers as needed on-site. Tools and equipment used include power and air tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, pneumatic chipping guns, and electric saws; machinery and equipment such as cement mixers, pumps, compressors, generators, and small mechanical hoists; surveying and layout tools such as measuring tapes, alignment strings, and surveying or measuring equipment; hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, hammers, and pry bars; and safety or support equipment such as scaffolding components, trench braces, and personal protective equipment.
