Assists in producing, packaging, and storing powder sugar and bulk bags of granulated sugar. Assists in the operation of sugar packaging and associated equipment, and the warehouse, as directed. Operates powdered sugar production and packaging equipment, bulk bagging equipment, railroad equipment (i.e. trackmobile, railcars, scales, etc.), and other specialized equipment. Operate a forklift. Load sugar into bulk railcars and trucks. Complete reports as required. Report mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, food safety, food quality, operational problems, and/or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Assures that all work areas are kept clean within the safety, food safety, food quality, and sanitation guidelines. Other job related duties as business requires. Adhere to company policies and perform assigned duties safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety, food safety, food quality, feed safety, sanitation rules and programs, and environmental permits. The employer will offer a minimum of 36 hours of work per week. Business operates 7 days a week, workdays vary Sunday through Saturday. Normal schedule consists of 12-hour shifts that rotate between day shift (8am to 8pm) and night shift (8pm to 8am) every two weeks. Rotating shift pattern alternates weekly between a 3-day workweek (36 hours) and a 4-day workweek (48 hours), allowing the worker to be off every other weekend. Shifts include 3 paid breaks. Workdays, hours, and shift times may vary with business needs. Basic rate of pay from $22.85 to $25.85 per hour. Base wage is $22.85 per hour for non-rotating or standard shift assignments due to operational needs or training; when working rotating shifts, the wage is increased to a shift-differential rate of $25.85 per hour. The employer may increase wages based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Employees may be eligible for an incentive compensation bonus. Optional union membership is available. Overtime is available and required as necessary. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a single workweek. Overtime will be paid at $34.28 per hour when the base wage applies, and at $38.78 per hour when the rotating shift rate applies.
