- Offer description:
Snow Removal Laborers will perform snow and ice removal services at commercial and residential properties located within a 90-mile radius of the employer’s headquarters at 5275 Oakcrest Hill Road SE, Hills, Iowa. Workers will clear snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways, entrances, and parking lots using hand tools, including shovels, ice scrapers, ice-melt spreaders, and walk-behind snow blowers. Workers will spread de-icing materials, including salt and sand; remove leaves and other debris; load and unload tools, equipment, and grounds-maintenance materials; and clean and maintain snow-removal equipment. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in cold, wet, icy, and snowy conditions. Workers must be available for snow-removal assignments based on the timing and amount of snowfall. Work may be performed during early-morning, daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday hours as required by weather conditions. Workers may drive standard pickup trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,000 pounds on public roads between worksites to transport snow-removal tools and materials, including shovels, snow blowers, and bags of salt. Workers will not operate heavy trucks or commercial motor vehicles and will not transport other employees. A valid state-issued Class C driver’s license is required. The anticipated work schedule is 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Workdays and shift times may vary due to inclement weather and operational needs. Overtime may be available as needed but is not guaranteed.
