Job Summary: Assist the chief engineer and facilities team in performing routine, general maintenance, preventative upkeep, and minor repairs throughout the hotel’s guest rooms, common areas, and physical plant to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment for guests. Specific Duties & Labor to be Performed: -Guest Room Maintenance: Respond promptly to guest-room maintenance requests. Repair or replace faulty items including leaky faucets, clogged toilets, showers, door locks, hinges, and broken window hardware. -Minor Electrical & Plumbing Upkeep: Replace worn light bulbs, fixtures, switches, and outlets. Unclog drains, replace garbage disposals, clear minor pipe blockages, and apply caulking to tubs or sinks as needed. -Cosmetic & Structural Repairs: Perform minor carpentry, drywall patching, touch-up painting, and wallpaper adjustments inside guest rooms and hallways. -Repair or assemble minor guest furniture, fixtures, and trim molding. -Preventative Systems & Pool Upkeep: Clean and replace air filters in guest room PTAC/HVAC units. -Perform routine, basic safety tests on emergency lighting systems and smoke detectors. Safely conduct routine pool water testing, log chemical levels, skim surface debris, and clear vacuum filters to assist with basic pool deck safety. -Facilities & Equipment Operation: Organize, clean, and maintain maintenance supply closets, workshops, and tool inventories. -Safely handle and store specialized hand tools, ladders, and power equipment. -Safely operate standard motorized property equipment, such as pressure washers for exterior walkway cleaning, and commercial vacuums. -General Property Upkeep: Remove debris, trash, and hazards from exterior walkways, entryways, and immediate property perimeters to ensure safety. -Assist with moving or rearranging heavy hotel furniture or equipment for events or room deep-cleans when directed.
