Pull quantity of items ordered listed on picking slips from 70,000 sq. ft. warehouse, stage orders picked, check quantities and items pulled are correct and accurate. Pack orders onto pallets, strap, and shrink wrap for domestic outbound shipment, load finished orders onto the delivering carrier’s trailer, and count inventory manually. Various tools, materials and equipment used: Forklift for receiving inbound inventory and for loading finished orders onto trucks. Order picker machine to pull orders. Manual pallet jacks to pull orders, stage orders for packing, to unload inbound products and load finished palletized orders. A pallet wrapping machine and weight scale. Strapping tensioner used with poly strapping and buckles to secure products to a pallet. Excelsior wood packing material (also known as wood wool) and cardboard are used for packing materials. Shrink wrap to wrap product to the pallet. Packing peanuts and bubble wrap used to pack smaller items into cardboard boxes. Clean facility and maintain warehouse, showroom, and offices, includes sweeping warehouse floors, wiping down furniture, cleaning bathrooms, disposing of trash, and prepping for customer visits to our facility using cleaning supplies such as windex, rags, and brooms. Load/unload products: finished orders are palletized. The Pallets are loaded onto outbound trailers using a forklift and pallet jack. Furniture products are generally packed in cartons and floor loaded. These products are hand unloaded and transferred to pallets for storage in warehouse. Garden products are generally palletized with the products either being packed in cartons or bundled, nested and strapped using a forklift and pallet jack to unload the products.
