-Under the supervision of Human Resources Manager, prepare new Employee Handbook and Policy Manual by researching, organizing, compiling, formatting, writing, and editing all information, materials, and topics for inclusion in the new handbook and policy manual. Topics include the company's employment policies, working conditions, security policy, employee rewards programs, company benefits and wellness policies; procedural topics include completing Form I-9 and E-Verify information, the process and procedures for hiring and terminating employees, payroll processing, sick leave and vacation compensation and any other topics as directed by HR Manager. -Finalize the new Employee Handbook and Policy Manual for management review, approval, publication, and distribution. -Analyze the company’s current payroll workflows, documentation practices, and processing timelines to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. -Develop and implement standardized payroll procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with federal and state regulations. -Coordinate with the accounting and HR teams to integrate payroll data, reduce duplicative tasks, and improve cross‑department communication. -Train HR and administrative staff on the newly implemented payroll processes and provide support during the transition period. -Actively monitor Federal (EPA, OSHA) and State-specific environmental regulations to ensure all company locations remain in compliance with evolving laws. -Maintain a centralized master database of all required environmental permits (e.g., wastewater discharge, air emissions, hazardous waste) and operational licenses for each facility. -Manage a rigorous renewal calendar to ensure no facility operates with expired licenses or permits, preventing potential fines or work stoppages -Conduct periodic desk audits or site visits to confirm that physical permits are properly displayed and to ensure full compliance with renewal requirements, including maintaining all permits at least thirty days before expiration. -Coordinate with facility managers to document and report on environmental impact metrics, such as waste management, energy usage, and chemical storage. -Serve as a secondary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or when filing mandatory compliance reports. -Assist in drafting and distributing SOPs that align with environmental standards, ensuring employees are trained on the "green" protocols specific to their location. -Provide monthly reports to senior management regarding the compliance status of each operation, highlighting any "at-risk" locations or upcoming regulatory hurdles. -Assist in the HR side of environmental incidents, ensuring proper documentation is filed and that corrective actions are implemented and recorded. -Achievement of a "Passing" score on all internal and external environmental compliance audits. -Develop SOPs for payroll across all locations, ensure compliant incentive calculations, accurate overtime and tax processing, proper timekeeping, approve and fund payroll, process garnishments, liaise with ADP, and handle unemployment claims.
