***RFI response*** The H-2B workers assigned to this position operate the following equipment in performing pool renovation work: Power and hand drills: Drilling core holes in concrete pool shells and structural elements to install anchor points and mechanical fasteners for equipment and material attachment. Air-powered hammers and breakers: Removing deteriorated plaster, pebble finishes, and other coating materials from pool shell surfaces during renovation and resurfacing work. Jack hammers: Breaking and removing hardened plaster, pebble aggregate, and bonded coating materials from the interior surfaces and shells of pools. Cement mixers: Preparing and mixing plaster compound and pebble aggregate materials to specification for application to pool interior surfaces by finishing crews. The workers also utilize hand measuring equipment and tools to verify dimensions and alignment during preparation work, ensuring surfaces are properly prepared and cleaned for finishing application. CRAFT WORKER ASSISTANCE DETAIL The Construction Laborer assists skilled tradespeople in the following specialized pool renovation tasks: Crack injection specialists: Injecting epoxy compound into structural cracks and voids in pool shells using injection machinery and grinders to prepare crack surfaces. Workers assist in surface preparation, material handling, and cleanup of injected areas. Interior finishers: Mixing plaster and pebble finishing materials to specification and assisting in troweling, spreading, and finishing these materials on pool interior surfaces. Workers prepare materials, transport mixed compounds, and perform finishing and troweling work under the finisher's direction. Tools include mixers, pumps, hoses, and trowels. Materials include plaster and pebble compounds. Interior cleanup and surface preparation: Removing and clearing plaster chips, pebble fragments, and old coating materials from pool shells and interior surfaces using pneumatic and manual tools to prepare surfaces for new finishes. Workers also perform acid bath cleaning of pool interiors using pressure washers and chemical solutions with appropriate safety equipment (respirators), then rinse and prepare surfaces for finishing work. ***Original*** The workers will perform task involving physical labor at building swimming pools. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying equipment, measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment or instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches and may assist other craft workers.
