Worker will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites by using hand and power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, and shovels to prepare sites for placing of concrete by loading and unloading materials, digging, and leveling the earth. Workers will place reinforcing materials for concrete, and lift, carry, and set concrete forms. Worker will clean up waste materials and maintain organized worksites. During winter months and cold-weather conditions common in Kalona, IA, the worker may also be required to remove snow and ice from job sites, equipment, and access areas to maintain safe working conditions; assist with ground thawing, site preparation, and protection of work areas for concrete placement; set up and maintain temporary enclosures, heaters, or insulation to support cold-weather concrete work; handle and store materials to prevent freezing or weather-related damage; assist with equipment maintenance and winterization; and perform site cleanup, preparation, and other weather-dependent construction tasks as directed. Work may include assisting with concrete placement and finishing activities in cold-weather conditions when feasible and under proper supervision. The worker will perform other related duties as assigned.
