Bayou Gulf Shrimp, LLC seeks sixty-five (65) temporary full-time Seasonal Plant Workers to work at its seasonal seafood processing plant located at 6896 Grand Caillou Road, Dulac, Louisiana 70353, Terrebonne Parish, from October 1, 2026 through June 1, 2027. Applicants must possess three (3) months of work-related experience. No formal education is required. Workers must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work in a cold, wet seafood processing environment. The position is full-time and consists of forty (40) hours per week. Work will be performed on rotating shifts Monday through Friday consisting of seven (7) hour shifts (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., or 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) and five (5) hour shifts on Saturdays (6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.). No overtime is anticipated. Job duties include cleaning and preparing work areas for incoming oysters and shrimp received from commercial fishing vessels or aquaculture farms for processing; placing oysters and shrimp onto processing tables or conveyor belts; sorting oysters and shrimp by size and quality; cleaning oysters and shrimp to remove dirt, debris, and marine growth; inspecting seafood products for foul odors, contamination, or other quality defects and removing non-consumable product from the processing line; weighing, packaging, and labeling oysters and shrimp according to customer specifications; placing processed seafood into ice containers, iceboxes, or other refrigerated storage containers to maintain proper cold temperatures and preserve freshness until shipment; maintaining clean and sanitary work areas throughout the processing operation; and following all food safety, sanitation, quality control, and workplace safety procedures established by the employer. Wages will be paid weekly. The employer will use a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due. The employer will pay the highest of the prevailing wage, the applicable federal minimum wage, the state minimum wage, or the local minimum wage, as required by law. All deductions from the workers' paychecks required by law will be made. The employer will furnish, at no cost to the workers, all tools, supplies, equipment, protective clothing, and any other materials required to perform the assigned job duties. The employer will provide daily transportation, at no cost to the workers, from the centralized pick-up location located at 3282 Bayou Dularge Road, Theriot, Louisiana 70397, and from employer-provided housing located at 5756 Highway 56, Chauvin, Louisiana 70344, to the worksite located at 6896 Grand Caillou Road, Dulac, Louisiana 70353, and return transportation to those locations at the end of each workday. The employer will also provide transportation, at no cost to workers residing in employer-provided housing, every Saturday and Sunday to local grocery stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and other retail establishments so workers may purchase their weekly groceries, household necessities, personal items, and supplies needed to prepare their daily meals, with return transportation provided to the employer-provided housing. Public transportation is available to the centralized pick-up location for workers who choose not to reside in employer-provided housing.
