***RFI response*** Move Material from Saw Room to Production Tables Using Carts: Production Worker Helpers transport lumber and wood components from the saw room to designated production tables using manually operated carts and material handling equipment. Duties include loading, moving, staging, positioning, and delivering materials to production tables/workstations for machine operators and production personnel. Helpers perform material handling and support functions and do not independently operate primary production machinery. Banding of Raw Materials and Finished Products: Under the direction of a Supervisor, Production Worker Helpers assist with preparing raw materials and finished products for storage and movement by grouping, aligning, holding, and securing lumber and finished product bundles and related materials. Duties include positioning materials, placing banding around bundles, and preparing products for transport within and without the facility. The primary piece of equipment used for this duty is a metal banding clamper. Operate Hand-Held Banding Tools: Production Worker Helpers use hand-held banding tools (metal banding clampers) to tighten and secure metal or plastic bands around bundles of lumber and finished products. Duties include feeding banding material through the tool, applying tension, securing bands, trimming excess material, and assisting with packaging operations. Equipment includes hand-held metal banding clampers and cutters. Operate Hand-Held Pneumatic Tools at Production Tables: Production Worker Helpers use hand-held pneumatic tools (staple and nail guns) to fasten simple truss components at production tables. Small pneumatic wood routers cut simple openings in wall panels through OSB plywood. Duties include properly positioning materials under the direction of the table leads, placing and pounding metal connector plates, securing materials during fastening and performing repetitive production support tasks. Equipment includes pneumatic hand tools such as staple and nail guns, air hoses, routers, hammers, nails, connectors, metal plates and lumber. ***Original*** Assist machine operator by sorting, moving, and positioning lumber. Move material from saw room to the production tables using cards. Banding of raw materials and finished products. Operate hand held banding tools. Count and sort small metal plates. Operate hand held pneumatic tools at production tables. Clean up site.
