Perform duties such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; cleaning work areas, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers. Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance and parts replacement for industrial machinery including commercial kitchen equipment and food processing machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment including electronic controllers Commercial kitchen equipment and food processing machinery. Work performed in public and private school cafeterias, University cafeterias, chain and private restaurants, food commissaries, nursing homes, hospitals, airports, hotels, casinos and arenas. Examine and test refrigeration machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning under direction of maintenance workers. Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation. Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools. Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete. Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks. Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion. Prepare work stations for use by mechanics and repairers. Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic principles. Tools used will include hand tools, drill sets, grinder, goggles, globes, knee-pads, belts, hammer, chisel, screw drivers, Allen Keys, rubber hammer, long noose, pliers, pipe wrench, channel locks, multi-meter, wire stripper, adjustable wrench, socket wrench set, measuring tape, level. Equipment used including: Dollies, hand-truck, hand-lifter, pallet jack, casters, service trucks. Materials: Electric tape, plumbing materials, electric materials, OEM food equipment replacement parts, sealants, cleaners, food grade lubricants & stainless steel food grade hardware. No driver’s license is required as a condition of employment for the position. If the prospective worker already possesses a standard, noncommercial driver’s license they may be asked to drive a vehicle, as needed. If the worker has a driver’s license, the worker may drive crew vehicle to job sites to perform core duties for projects, as needed.
