Perform a combination of kitchen support and housekeeping in lodge and dining environment. Place food servings on plates or trays according to orders. Clean or sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, or facilities. Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to correct recipients and that guidelines such as allergies, are followed. Examine trays to ensure they contain required items. Load trays with eating utensils, napkins, or condiments. Take food orders and relay orders to kitchens or serving counters. Monitor food preparation or serving techniques to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Remove trays and stack dishes for return to kitchen. Carry food, silverware, or linen on trays or use carts to carry trays. Record amounts and types of special food items served. Stock service stations with items, such as ice, napkins, or straws. Prepare food items, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, or beverages. Determine where patrons would like to eat and help them get situated. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand. Maintain work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition. Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage. Sweep or scrub floors. Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars. Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving. Sort and remove trash, placing in pickup areas. Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks. Set up banquet tables. Clean and sanitize the dining area. Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts. Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met. Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers. Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors. Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in closets. Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items. Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses. Replace light bulbs. Deliver TV sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to rooms. Hang draperies and dust window blinds. Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.
