Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste material. May assist other craft workers. Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to projects plans, or specifications. Workers may assist other craft workers, by preparing worksites; gathering, loading, unloading, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment; cleaning work areas; and performing manual labor tasks associated with construction projects. Workers may use common hand tools and basic power tools including shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, brooms, drills, compactors, levels, and measuring tools. Materials handled may include lumber, concrete forms, gravel, sand, cement, concrete, rebar, pipes, and other common construction materials. Workers may operate basic measuring and layout equipment, including measuring tapes, laser levels, grade rods, and string lines, to assist supervisors and other construction personnel with measuring distances, checking grades, and marking work areas. Workers may load, unload, identify, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment using manual labor, wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or similar basic material-handling equipment. Materials handled may include lumber, concrete forms, tools, gravel, sand, rebar, cement, and other common construction materials used at the worksite.
