Maintenance Helper - Assists in making repairs, installations, and maintenance on various machinery used in the processing of sugar during Louisiana Harvest Season. Supply workers with tools. Maintain clean work areas and sugar processing equipment. Assist in calibration of machinery. Twelve (12) temporary, full-time positions; willing to work 7 days a week, varying 12 hour shifts (12pm-12am; 12am-12pm); $15.44/Hour; $23.16/Hour; 84 hrs a week during harvest season, 40 hrs a week after harvest season until the end of the contract, overtime paid after 48 hours during harvesting and after 40 hours after harvesting; Overtime Hours will vary and are not guaranteed; worker will have 30 minutes paid lunch break during the workday; job to begin on 10/01/26 and to end on 06/30/27. A minimum of 3 months experience required in job offered. No minimum education required. No on the job training provided. A single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Wages are paid bi-weekly. Optional on-site lodging offered at no charge to workers hired in this temporary seasonal position. All Local, State and Federal Taxes will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck as required by law. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The 12-week period will begin the first workday after the worker's arrival or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later. As applicable, daily transportation to and from worksite will be provided by employer. The worker will be reimbursed for transportation and subsistence expenses from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment by check by the employer upon completion of 50% of the period of employment covered by the job order or earlier, if appropriate. This includes at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Also, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's outbound transportation and subsistence if the worker completes the job order period or is dismissed early. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek the full cost for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government. Employer will provide or reimburse inbound and outbound transportation and daily subsistence costs for corresponding U.S. workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence within the same workday.
