Operate or tend machines to prepare industrial or consumer products for storage or shipment. Operating and monitoring of the strapping equipment and the placement and count of the bundle tags. Perform running adjustments, repairs and maintenance to the strapping equipment. Identify all products and their packaging specifications including strap patterns, wood packaging requirements, in between layer sheets and top sheets. Ensure the quality and soundness of all strapped bundles. Perform final quality control check before product leaves the plant building. Attach the proper bundle tags. The worker performs running adjustments, repairs, and routine maintenance on strapping equipment used to secure products for handling, storage, or shipment. Specific tasks include: Monitoring strapping machines during operation to ensure proper strap alignment, tension, and sealing, adjusting machine settings such as strap tension, feed length, and heat/seal controls based on product size and packaging requirements, clearing equipment jams and removing misfed, twisted, or broken strapping materials, replacing consumable components such as strapping coils, guides, cutters, and sealing heads, inspecting machinery before, during, and after operation to identify wear, misalignment, or malfunction, performing routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning debris, lubricating moving parts, and tightening bolts, using basic hand tools such as calipers, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and adjustment tools to perform minor repairs, assisting in maintaining continuous equipment operation by making real-time adjustments, reporting equipment malfunctions requiring advanced repair to supervisors, maintaining simple production and maintenance records. The tools and equipment the workers will use are automatic or semi-automatic Signode and Stonepack strapping machines, strapping materials (plastic or steel straps, buckles, seals),basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters), cleaning materials and lubricants, personal protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses).
