Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lessons and structured learning activities aligned with the California Preschool Learning Foundations and Just 4 Kids Preschool’s CCTR-approved academic curriculum. Support the facilitation of developmentally appropriate activities across learning domains, including language arts, early mathematics, science exploration, arts and crafts, music, movement, and social play. Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional supplies under the Lead Teacher or Site Director’s direction to ensure a structured and stimulating daily learning environment. Reinforce foundational academic and social skills introduced by the Lead Teacher or Site Director, including color, shape, number, and letter recognition, personal hygiene, self-regulation, and cooperative interaction with peers. Assist in setting up and cleaning the classroom environment before, during, and after program hours in accordance with Title 5 health, safety, and environmental standards. Provide attentive, continuous supervision of children at all times during program hours, including classroom instruction, transitions between activities, outdoor play, and meal and rest periods. Attend to children’s basic daily care needs, including nutrition, hygiene, diapering (where applicable), and age-appropriate self-care routines. Support children’s social-emotional development by modeling positive behavior, de-escalating conflicts, and reinforcing social skills under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. Maintain consistent, nurturing relationships with enrolled children throughout the full academic program year, contributing to the continuity of care required under CCTR program quality standards. Assist the Lead Teacher in observing and documenting children’s developmental progress, daily behavior, and participation across program activities. Communicate observations of child behavior, health concerns, or developmental indicators to the Lead Teacher promptly and in accordance with established program protocols.Communicate observations of child behavior, health concerns, or developmental indicators to the Lead Teacher promptly and in accordance with established program protocols. Assist in maintaining required attendance records. Maintain active presence and supervision across all program settings, including indoor classrooms, outdoor play areas, transitions, and any off-site program activities, to ensure uninterrupted ratio coverage. Maintain a current and valid CTC Child Development Associate Teacher Permit in good standing for the full duration of the academic program year. Adhere to all applicable California childcare licensing regulations, CCTR program standards, and Just 4 Kids Preschool organizational policies and procedures at all times. Interact with enrolled families in a professional, respectful, and welcoming manner during daily drop-off, pick-up, and incidental contact, consistent with the Center’s family engagement standards. Participate in family engagement events, program celebrations, and school-wide activities as directed by the Lead Teacher or Site Director. Direct family inquiries regarding curriculum, child progress, or program matters to the Lead Teacher or Site Director as appropriate. Participate in required professional development activities, staff meetings, and program training sessions as directed by the Site Director. Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and fellow staff members to support classroom goals, program initiatives, and the overall academic program. Accept and implement instructional feedback and guidance from the Lead Teacher in a professional and constructive manner.
