***RFI Response*** The Painter will perform residential and commercial painting preparation, repair, and finishing work. Duties include preparation of drywall surfaces, repair of wall damage, application of coatings, and finishing work to ensure a smooth and uniform appearance. Specific job duties include: • Tape and Float Drywall: Apply joint compound and joint tape to drywall seams using automatic taping tools (bazooka), flat boxes, and hand tools to create smooth wall joints. Fill nail and screw holes with joint compound. Use corner tools for finishing corners. • Drywall Repair: Repair wall holes, cracks, or surface damage using joint compound, patching materials, putty knives, and sanding tools. • Sanding: Sand drywall joints and repaired areas using electric sanders or manual sanding tools to smooth surfaces and remove excess compound. Clean dust and debris after sanding. • Texture Application: Apply wall and ceiling textures using air compressors, hopper spray guns, and related equipment. Prepare texture materials and adjust mixture depending on the finish requested. • Primer Application: Apply primer to drywall, ceilings, walls, cabinets, doors, and other surfaces using paint sprayers, rollers, or brushes to seal surfaces and prepare them for paint. • Painting: Apply paint coatings to interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, cabinets, doors, trim, and frames using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Apply multiple coats as required. • Minor Detail Work / Touch-Ups: Perform final detail work to correct imperfections or uneven finishes and ensure a uniform final appearance. • Caulking and Sealing: Apply caulking using caulking guns to seal joints and gaps before painting. • Commercial Surface Preparation: For commercial projects, clean and prepare surfaces using pressure washers and perform repairs or patchwork before applying coatings. Tools and equipment used may include automatic drywall taping tools, flat boxes, sanding tools, electric sanders, joint compound tools, air compressors, hopper texture guns, paint sprayers, rollers, brushes, caulking guns, pressure washers, and lifts or scaffolding when necessary. ***Original F.a.2*** They will be required to do tape and float, apply and sand texture, paint, repair wall holes, do minor detail work, and painting cabinets, doors, and frames.
