Bagasse Burners – Six (6) temporary full-time positions available from 08/01/2026 to 01/31/2027 in New Iberia, Louisiana with Cajun Sugar Company, LLC. To assist with the burning of bagasse in boilers, with the raking of boilers, and the cleaning of the boilers. Ensure continuous supply of bagasse to mill boilers. Preparation of equipment prior to harvest making adjustments to ensure in working order for the first day of grinding. $18.11/Hour; $27.17/Hour OT based on single workweek (paid every 2 weeks by check). Shift work: will be required to work various 8 hr. shifts (11am-7pm; 7pm-3am; 3am -11am); 56 hrs a week during harvest season, 40 hrs a week before and after harvest season, overtime paid after 48 hours during harvesting and after 40 hours before and after harvesting. Must be willing to work 7 days per week during grinding/harvesting. Overtime Hours will vary and are not guaranteed. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Worker will have 30 minutes paid lunch break during the workday. A minimum of 3 months experience is required in the job offered in a raw sugar mill. No minimum education is required. No on-the-job training is provided. Optional on-site lodging offered to each temporary seasonal employee hired in the position at no charge. Cajun will provide U.S. workers at least the same benefits, wages, and working conditions that will be offered or provided to H-2B workers. Cajun will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Employer guarantees to offer employment equal to at least three-fourths (3/4's) of the workdays of each 12-week period of the total employment period; and, if the guarantee is not met, the employer will pay the worker what the worker would have earned if the employer had offered the guaranteed number of days. The 12-week period will begin the first workday after the worker's arrival or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later. The worker will be reimbursed for transportation and subsistence expenses from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment by check by the employer upon completion of 50% of the period of employment covered by the job order or earlier, if appropriate. This includes at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with documentation of actual expenses. Also, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's outbound transportation and subsistence if the worker completes the job order period or is dismissed early from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek the full cost for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government. Cajun will provide or reimburse inbound and outbound transportation and daily subsistence costs for corresponding U.S. workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence within the same workday. As applicable, daily transportation to and from worksite will be provided by employer. Higher pay may be available to workers with extensive experience.
