- Offer description:
***RFI Response*** Temporary Construction Workers rely on hand tools and basic concrete-related equipment to carry out daily tasks and to prepare job sites for concrete placement. No specialized licensing or certification is required for the equipment used. Job duties regarding demolition and equipment care: • Removing non-structural concrete materials, including deteriorated slabs, pads, curbs, small retaining features, and flatwork sections to prepare areas for new concrete installation. • Breaking, loosening, and removing concrete, asphalt, or compacted subgrade materials as needed to establish appropriate site conditions for forming and pouring concrete. • Operating concrete-related equipment such as pavement breakers (Bosch GSH 11 VC, Makita HM1307CB), jackhammers (DeWalt DCH273, Milwaukee M18 FUEL), hand tampers, mechanical plate compactors (Wacker Neuson BS50-2, Multiquip MTX35), and concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers (Imer Mix 140, Kushlan Products 2.0 cu ft). • Maintaining clean and safe work areas by clearing debris, vegetation, and loose materials to ensure orderly and accessible concrete construction zones. • Performing routine maintenance and care of tools and equipment, including cleaning, debris removal, visual inspection, and proper storage to support safe working conditions. Workers do not perform mechanical repairs. These activities directly support concrete construction operations such as slab preparation, foundation-related flatwork, curb installation, and other concrete structures, helping ensure that sites are properly prepared for placement work and that project schedules are met. Issue 2: As part of outdoor concrete construction projects, Temporary Construction Laborers assist with the installation of sewer, water, and storm drainage systems. Assigned tasks include: • Excavating and preparing trenches using hand tools such as shovels, spades, picks, tamper plates, and levels (e.g., Marshalltown 6-in-1 mason’s tool, Stabila 81 SM torpedo level). • Positioning, laying, and aligning pipe sections according to project specifications. • Connecting pipe joints, applying seals as directed by supervisors, and confirming proper alignment and slope. • Backfilling trenches and compacting soil using hand tampers or similar light equipment in preparation for concrete placement. ***Original F.a.2*** Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and removing hazards materials. Operate pavement breakers; jackhammers; earth tampers; concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers. Demand tasks on construction sites, including site preparation. Remove, fill, or compact earth. Participate in demolitions. Operate and care for construction equipment and machines. Install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes. Load or unload construction materials.
