Support daily port and terminal operations by operating material-handling equipment by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment to move materials and supplies as directed. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads. Position requires inspecting equipment before and during operation to ensure safe working conditions are maintained at all times, following established safety procedures and complying with all federal, state, and company requirements. Perform routine inspections of transport systems and equipment and carry out minor maintenance tasks to support continued operations such as cleaning, washing, lubricating, adjusting equipment, and replacing filters, hoses, gauges, and valves as needed. Any equipment damage, malfunctions, or repair needs will be promptly reported to the Maintenance Supervisor or Terminal Manager. Position includes routine housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and fire safety standards throughout the work area. Coordinate with flaggers and other personnel when performing lifting, rigging, or material-handling activities.
