As included on the ONET website for 39-9032.00 (Recreation Workers), Summer Camp Assistant Counselors at K.I.D.S Humpty Dumpty Academy will perform a variety of duties on behalf of school aged children (5–12 years old) enrolled in the Summer Camp Program. Counselors will assist the Lead Counselor in supervising and engaging children in onsite and offsite recreational and educational activities including games, sports, arts and crafts, STEM activities, and themed events. Counselors will assist with active supervision at all times to ensure children follow safety rules, center policies, and state childcare regulations. Staff will help prepare activity materials and spaces, support transitions between activities, encourage positive behavior and teamwork, and maintain a safe and structured environment. Counselors will assist with attendance tracking and ensure all children are accounted for during classroom transitions, outdoor play, and while boarding and exiting transportation for field trips. Assistants will help children with prepacked meals and snacks, ensure proper hydration, support basic first aid as trained, and assist with maintaining clean, safe, and organized classrooms and activity areas. Employment is temporary and seasonal and supports the center’s annual Summer Camp Program.
