Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May operate surveying and measuring equipment including laser levels, measuring tapes, measuring wheels, and transit levels to establish reference points and verify measurements. May operate other equipment and instruments including compactors, jackhammers, concrete vibrators, power saws, drills, and pneumatic tools. May clean and prepare sites by removing vegetation, rocks, and debris using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and hand tools. Dig trenches ranging from 1 to 6 feet deep and 1 to 4 feet wide using shovels, spades, picks, mattocks, and post hole diggers. Set braces to support the sides of excavations. Erect scaffolding using wrenches, hammers, and hand tools. Clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials by hand and using shovels, brooms, rakes, and wheelbarrows to transport materials to disposal containers or designated areas. Assist with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete. Assist with placement of steel reinforcement materials. Assist with loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials, parts, and tools at worksite. Assist with the erection of grain storage bins by positioning and aligning bin sections, securing bolts and fasteners using wrenches and socket sets, installing panels, and operating hand winches and chain hoists to lift and position components. Workers with valid U.S. driver's licenses may operate company vehicles, but driving is not a requirement of all workers in the position. May assist other craft workers.
