***RFI Response*** When measuring, cutting, assembling, and holding materials, the worker performs the following tasks as directed: • Measures lumber, panels, or other basic construction materials using measuring tapes and levels to confirm length, alignment, or placement. • Cuts basic materials such as wood or plastic using hand saws or utility knives, following measurements or markings provided by supervisors. • Assembles simple, non-structural components or temporary supports using hand tools. • Holds, positions, or stabilizes materials in place while supervised personnel perform fastening or installation. When assisting with basic construction activities, the worker provides general labor support such as staging and organizing materials, holding components during installation, assisting with site preparation, and performing cleanup and housekeeping tasks. All duties are performed under supervision and involve no technical decision-making. Work is performed at outdoor general construction job sites and involves standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and repetitive physical activity throughout the workday. Use of Hand Tools and Associated Tasks The Construction Laborer uses only basic hand tools for manual labor support, including: • Hammers: Driving or removing nails during temporary assembly or disassembly tasks. • Shovels: Moving soil, sand, or debris and assisting with basic site preparation and cleanup. • Rakes: Spreading or leveling loose materials and cleaning work areas. • Trowels: Applying or smoothing patch materials or mortar for basic surface preparation under supervision. • Hand Saws: Cutting wood or similar materials to specified lengths as directed. • Measuring Tapes: Measuring materials or distances prior to cutting or placement. • Levels: Checking horizontal or vertical alignment of materials during positioning. • Pry Bars: Adjusting, lifting, or removing materials or temporary components. • Wrenches and Screwdrivers: Tightening or loosening bolts, screws, or fasteners on temporary assemblies. • Utility Knives: Cutting packaging, plastic sheeting, insulation, or light materials. • Wheelbarrows: Transporting materials, tools, or debris across the job site. The worker does not operate power tools requiring certification, heavy equipment, or vehicles. ***Original F.a.2*** Duties include moving, carrying, and organizing construction materials by hand, preparing and cleaning work areas, measuring, cutting, assembling, and holding materials, and assisting with basic construction activities as directed.
