Operate pavement breakers and jackhammers to break and remove concrete or asphalt; operate earth tampers and compactors to prepare or backfill areas for concrete work; and operate concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers to prepare materials for pours, patching, and related concrete tasks. Demolition work includes removing deteriorated concrete, old slabs, and debris using hand tools, pavement breakers, and jackhammers. ‘Operate and care for equipment’ refers to using small concrete-related tools such as compactors, mixers, wheelbarrows, saws, vibrators, and screeds, and performing routine cleaning and simple checks. Assist with installing sewer, water, and storm drainpipes on residential and commercial construction sites by preparing trenches, placing and aligning pipe, and backfilling using shovels, levels, pipe cutters, tampers, and compactors. Load and unload materials such as concrete bags, rebar, pipes, forming materials, and jobsite supplies to and from trucks or staging areas using dollies, wheelbarrows, pallet jacks, and hand tools.
