Duties may include: Process Crab, multiple species of finfish, bottom fish, salmon. Work on hand butcher line; use of hands/hand tools to perform routine cutting and trimming. Workers will wash, size, grade seafood, load processed seafood onto freezer baskets/into cartons for shipping & other related Seafood Processor II activities as per SOC/OES 51-3022 (onetonline.org). Employer will transport workers between report to work address and additional worksites. Additional worksites: (work throughout the following counties/areas within the area of intended employment): Aleutians East Borough, Aleutians West Census Area, Bristol Bay Borough, Chugach Census Area, Copper River Census Area, Dillingham Census Area, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Kodiak Island Borough, Lake and Peninsula Borough, Petersburg Borough, Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area and Sitka City and Borough counties of AK; and area of Alaska nonmetropolitan area. All work locations are Silver Bay facilities within the area of intended employment as follows: (Sitka, Craig, Cordova, Dillingham, False Pass, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Naknek, Petersburg, Seward, Valdez, Wood River AK) Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00AM-12:00AM. Offering 35+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Shifts may vary, and significant overtime may be required depending on the volume of fish processed and the production schedule. Work hours are determined by production needs and are not guaranteed on a daily, weekly, or scheduled basis. Shift schedules may rotate to accommodate our 24/7 operations. Shift times may vary and could include: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Scheduled days/hours includes weekends; possible holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. If overtime is worked, wage is paid at 1.5x regular rate of pay per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week or more than 8 hours in a day. In practice, shifts can often extend up to 16 hours per day. Significant overtime opportunities are available, depending on fish volume and production schedules. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed). Additional optional Health and Welfare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance may be available to employees, subject to eligibility and qualifying locations requirements. If eligible, these become available after 1,560 completed hours in the designated occupation. Should an eligible employee choose to participate, the cost of these benefits will be deducted from their paycheck. Employer also provides transportation from employer provided housing to the worksite(s).
