***RFI response #2*** The Yard Associate retrieves, stages, and bundles lumber and building materials in the yard using a 9,000 lb Yale forklift, model GDP090VXNKA Vll0. Materials are secured and bundled for delivery, inner-yard transfer, or customer pick-up using nylon cord straps. Company provides training and the required forklift certification. To assist customers with material pick-ups or returns and to load lumber and other merchandise into customer vehicles, the Yard Associate uses a 9,000 lb Yale forklift, model GDP090VXNKA Vll0. Materials are banded and secured using nylon cord straps to ensure safe handling and transport. Company provides training and the required forklift certification. Assembly duties may include assisting in assembling doors, assembling trusses, and installing insulation batts. These activities may take place at lumber yards, manufacturing plants, and on-site construction projects. Any assistance provided at manufacturing plants or construction sites occurs within the employer's normal local service area and does not require regular or extended travel. The Yard Associate performs these duties using standard industry tools such as hammers, nail guns, cutting blades, tape measures, and wrenches, following customary and accepted industry practices. ***RFI response*** The Yard Associate efficiently and accurately assembles and stages customer orders to prepare them for delivery, inner-yard transfer, or customer pick-up. The employee takes pick lists for customer orders, retrieves the required lumber materials, and bundles the materials for delivery to customers. The position also involves accurately checking in delivery orders, verifying products received, and completing any necessary paperwork associated with incoming and outgoing materials. Assembly duties include assisting in the assembling and/or installation of building materials products. The employee arranges pre-cut wood members and helps connect those members by hammering plates. The employee also arranges wood jambs and nails them together while attaching door slabs. In certain situations, the employee may assist in placing insulation products into cavities within building envelopes. To perform these duties, the Yard Associate uses common industry tools such as hammers, nail guns, cutting blades, tape measures, and wrenches, depending on the job. These tools are used following standard techniques applicable to the handling and assembly of lumber and building materials. In addition to assembly responsibilities, the employee assists customers as they enter the yard for material pick-ups or returns and loads lumber and other merchandise into customer vehicles. The position requires performing routine pre-and post-use inspections to ensure the suitable working condition of equipment, maintaining necessary equipment logs, and promptly informing a supervisor of any identified deficiencies. ***Original*** Efficiently and accurately assemble and stage customer orders for delivery, inner-yard transfer, or customer pick-up.
