  Workers must perform a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to: individuals who can pour, level, and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces, including roads, sidewalks, curbs, floors, basements, and commercial building, creating and setting forms that hold the concrete in place, cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues, and pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. The worker will need to monitor the effects of the weather on the curing process, apply sealing and hardening components, mold and construct expansion joints using joiners and edging tools, direct the casting of the concrete. The worker will also need to produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based on job-specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms or special groove rakes, clean any chipped areas, using a wire brush, and feel and observe the surface to determine if it is rough or uneven, chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools, use other materials within the job site (stone, additives, and other materials), and operate other small machinery (tamps, drills, saws, concrete mixers). The worker will also need to clean and maintain the equipment and the job site.
