Cooks will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items according to The Nor’Easter’s recipes and plate specifications, ensuring proper food rotation, labeling and dating of products and managing first in first out procedures, maintaining state health standards throughout food preparation and service and properly filling out temperature, cooling, and waste logs, maintaining a clean work area and is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the cooking line and equipment throughout and at the end of service, ensuring that the trash is removed as needed and floors are maintained constantly and remain clean and dry, and reporting any feedback or repairs to management. Cooks will also be responsible for assisting with dishwashing and food preparation tasks (e.g. peeling and cleaning vegetables, preparing a soup, sauce, or dressing, doing mise en place for their station, and preparing and portioning proteins), collaborating with management to create specials and prevent food loss, taking inventory, deep cleaning projects, and assisting with dishwashing. Cooks must be able to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs and stand, sit, bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, or walk for extended periods of time. Schedule: 40 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 6:00AM-2:00PM, 10:00AM-6:00PM, or 2:00PM-10PM. Shift hours may vary. Please see job description for additional information.
