- Offer description:
*RFI Response For clarification, the reference to ‘compact landscaping equipment (such as a compact skid steer or compact utility loader)’ refers only to landscaping-grade, stand-on or walk-behind materialhandling equipment as commonly used by landscaping and groundskeeping workers. This equipment is used solely on landscaped properties to move light landscape materials such as mulch, sod, bark, or similar materials short distances within the work site. It is not used for excavation, grading, trenching, site preparation, or construction activities. Any use of this equipment is incidental and subordinate to the primary hand-labor landscaping and groundskeeping duties described. *Original Workers will perform landscaping and grounds maintenance duties on residential and commercial properties. Tasks include mowing lawns; operating walk-behind or riding mowers; trimming; edging; planting flowers, shrubs, and trees; spreading mulch, bark, soil, and other landscape materials; laying sod; seeding; watering; fertilizing; pruning; weeding; raking; and general landscape clean-up. Workers will use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hoes, pruning shears, and hand saws, and may occasionally use small power hand tools such as string trimmers, blowers, and hand-held mowers. Workers may occasionally operate small, compact landscaping equipment (such as a compact skid steer or compact utility loader) only to move light landscape materials on site, and may use small walk-behind trenchers to dig shallow irrigation trenches not exceeding approximately 12–24 inches. Any use of such equipment is incidental and performed only as needed to support the primary hand-labor landscaping duties. All work is performed outdoors on ground level as part of standard landscaping and groundskeeping.
