Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, accuracy in diagnosing issues, and the ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to perform effective repairs. Efficiency, punctuality, and reliability are also essential to consistently meet our standards of excellence. Key Responsibilities: Diagnosing & Troubleshooting: Access and diagnose issues with appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and more. Utilize diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and your expertise to accurately identify problems. Repairs: Perform required repairs, including part replacements, to restore functionality and ensure long-term reliability. Estimate Preparation: Provide clear, accurate cost estimates for recommended repairs. Customer Communication: Explain findings and repair needs to customer sin a clear, professional manner to ensure transparency and understanding. Parts & Materials Management: Order necessary parts and ensure responsible, efficient use of company tools and resources. Payment Collection: Collect payments for completed services according to company procedures. Ongoing Training: Participate in continuous training and skill development to stay current with the latest technologies, tools, and manufacturing guidelines. Travel Safely to Job Sites: Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly while traveling to/from customers homes. The company will provide the vehicle for work purposes. Proper Use of Company Assets: Ensure the respectful and responsible use of all company property, including tools, equipment, vehicles, uniforms, and other resources. The company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required for the job at no charge to the worker. Minimum Productivity Standard: As a condition of job retention, technicians are expected to successfully complete an average of five service calls per 8-hour shift and maintain a recall rate of less than 3% for all repairs performed. These standards are consistent with the normal and accepted practices of non-H-2B employers in the Albuquerque appliance repair industry. Wage Guarantee: We will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due; Payment will be issued on a semi-weekly basis, on the 15th and on the last day of the month. We will make all the deductions required by law from the paycheck. Even if a worker fails to meet the Minimum Productivity Standard, the worker will still be paid the full $19.63 per hour for every hour they worked that week. Productivity standards can lead to termination, but they can never be used to reduce pay below the offered wage. For workers recruited from outside normal commuting distance, the employer will pay or reimburse all inbound/outbound travel and subsistence costs ($16.28/day min; $68.00/day max with receipts). Payment will be made via direct payment, advancement, or reimbursement by the first workweek (for visa/border fees) or by the 50% point of the contract (for travel). Return transportation is provided if the worker completes the contract or is dismissed early for any reason. Minimum Hiring Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to pass drug/background/driving records checks. Applicants must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis; for heavier appliances, technicians are expected to utilize provided mechanical aids (e.g., dollies) or request assistance from a partner. The role requires significant physical activity, including frequent bending, kneeling, and working in tight spaces.
