Job duties of the Cook position include cleaning food preparation equipment, work areas, and counter or tables; perform food preparation tasks, such as making sandwiches, chopping fruit, carving meats, making soups or salads; perform general cleaning activities in kitchen and dining areas; restocking kitchen supplies, rotate food, and stamp the time and date on food coolers; grill, cook, and fry foods such as hamburger patties, French fries, eggs, chicken, tacos, kolaches, breakfast sandwiches, fresh sandwiches, pizzas and hamburgers. Workers will use microwave, stove, oven and small kitchen grills to prepare food. Methods of cooking vary depending on the food. Sandwiches are made by hand and warmed on stove top or microwave or served fresh. Other food can be cooked on stove top, in the oven or small kitchen grill. All kitchen tools, machinery and utensils will be provided to the worker including pots, pans, knives, stove, oven, microwave and grill.
