Rides thoroughbred racehorses for training workouts and training races while keeping the trainer advised of horses’ physical conditions, peculiarities and temperament. Discusses horses’ reactions with trainer. Follows trainer’s specific instructions on exercising the horses to ensure that the horses are in top physical condition. Accompanies horses to racetracks and other places as needed. Responsible for the safety of the horses and nearby workers. Will be travel between racetracks at Keeneland and Churchill Downs. Employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. 6 mo. exp. req. Worksites: Keeneland Racetrack, 4201 Versailles RD, Lexington, KY 40510; Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. Workers will be paid weekly; the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law but will make no other deductions. Optional employer-offered housing in the backstretch at no cost to the worker. The employer will cover all visa expenses and travel. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most reasonable common carrier for the distance involved.
