Duties may include any of the following: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food and beverages in a restaurant setting. Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures. Oversee staff hiring, orientation, training, and scheduling. Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities. Ensure that exceptional customer service is provided and resolve customer issues. Observe and evaluate workers and procedures to ensure quality standards and service standards are met. Ensure all food, beverage, and alcohol handling requirements are met. Control inventories and ensure that foods, beverages, and other supplies are properly ordered and maintained. Assist with developing new ideas for menu items, events, or other customer engagement services. Assist with daily receipt compiling or balancing, cost management, budgeting, and vendor relations. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
