Prepare food ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, peeling, grating, and marinating as needed for daily menu items; measure and assemble ingredients for menu items. Perform basic cooking tasks such as parboiling food, reducing sauces, and preparing simple dishes like salads and entrees. Perform cooking tasks on the line during service, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to specification. Set up workstations with the necessary tools and ingredients to facilitate efficient cooking. Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned cooking station, including proper storage of food items. Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet employer standards. Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and effective communication during busy periods. Manage inventory, and receipt and storage of deliveries, ensuring proper stock levels and rotation of ingredients. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for easy access; ensure all food items are stored properly. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash; comply with food-safety, health, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
