  Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites, such as rake and shovel asphalt, clean and prepare job sites, set braces, dig trenches, clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other more skilled road construction workers. Will assist in laying asphalt roads using, maneuvering, and operating hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment used each day.
