Our mission is to bring traditional products, found in Mexico and Latin America, and make them available to the individual, family, and community of the Napa Valley. Our grocery offers canned goods, fresh produce, traditional sweet pastries, Hispanic cut meats, poultry, and beer. Azteca Market & Taqueria Napa Valley, Inc. is seeking to hire four (4) Meat Market Cooks from April 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026. This is for temporary, full-time seasonal job at the meat market located at 2995 Jefferson St. Napa CA 94558. Work schedule will generally require employment from Thursdays to Mondays (weekend work required). Shifts and days of work may vary in time and start/end times depending on business needs. Duties include: Learn and understand the meat market's food menu, ingredients and receipts. Prepare and cook authentic Mexican food according to recipes to ensure quality and consistency, such as burritos, tacos, tortas, chiles rellenos, flautas, tamales, quesadillas, nachos, beans, salsas and party trays. Prepare, mix, and sauté vegetables, sauces and other food items and conduct food preparation tasks. Cut, pack and prepare food products for presentation and sale to customers, such as beef, pork, lamb, veal, fish, poultry and specialty Mexican food items, such as chorizo. Receive, check quality, and store deliveries of food products. Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers, explain products, take orders and provide recommendations. Wrap, weigh, label. freeze and price cuts of meat. Monitor levels of food and meat inventory to replenish in a timely manner and prevent spoilage. Ensure kitchen and meat department and all food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner, including all equipment, work areas, counters, knives, and cutting boards. Order supplies. Set up and restock stations with all necessary supplies, condiments, and salsas. Immediately report safety hazards, faulty equipment and slippery floor conditions. Cooks may travel within the area of intended employment occasionally to deliver food and cook at catered events for local wineries, which may involve delivery of prepared foods to events, set up and clean up of tables and other equipment, cooking at on-site facilities or on food truck, and providing table service onsite at event. The employer will provide to workers, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
