Assists with food preparation and serving. Workers must be able to perform a variety of tasks without close supervision, including wash, peel, cut, prepare food; serve prepared items. Remove dishes from tables or counters, clean and organize eating, service, kitchen areas, and equipment. Stock service areas with supplies and perform assorted side duties. The worker will prepare daily food items such as sandwiches and salads using a butter knife, bread/serrated knife, vegetable peeler, cutting boards, whisk, mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons; prepare and cook simple foods such as pancakes and eggs (on a griddle), waffles (by pouring batter in a waffle iron), chicken wings and fries (by placing the food in a deep fryer); adds relishes and garnishes to food orders; brews coffee and tea, dispenses cold drinks from a fountain machine. Assists with food service by arranging food for serving, distributing food to servers, and/or replenishing foods at serving stations; selects food items from serving or storage areas and places them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out containers. Wrap menu items such as sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or for takeout. Collects dirty dishes and tableware from tables in dining area using a tray and returns dishes to the kitchen for washing. The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week. Restaurant is open 7 days a week. 5-day work schedule varies Sunday through Saturday. Normal shift times: 6am-2pm, 12pm-8pm, 6pm-2am, 12am-8am. Workdays, hours, and shift times may vary with restaurant occupancy. Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. May receive tips directly from customers. Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $31.74 per hour. Workers are responsible for their own daily transportation to and from the worksite. Employer-offered housing is within walking distance of the worksite. The worksite is also accessible by public transportation.
