Assure supplies are kept stocked and up to date and prepare re-orders as necessary. Assess stock to assure prep staff have fresh ingredients at all times. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes. Bake, grill, or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods. Boil and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods. Arrange and garnish food on serving dishes. Assure work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes are clean and sanitized at all times. Cook, handle, and store food or ingredients. Make recommendations for special menu items and/or for modifications of existing menu items.
