Landscaping laborers maintain grass areas and landscaped grounds in a neat, safe, and attractive condition. Work includes mowing large lawns and open fields using walk-behind and riding mowers, trimming and edging around trees, fences, and other fixed objects with string trimmers, and collecting and disposing of leaves, grass, and litter. Laborers also pull weeds, remove small brush, and keep grassy areas free of debris throughout the workday. Laborers perform routine maintenance of hand tools and small mowing equipment as directed, clean work areas after daily use, and ensure that all lawns and grounds are left in a well-maintained condition. Work involves continuous outdoor physical activity such as walking, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds while mowing and trimming assigned areas. Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and sun exposure, and may involve contact with dust, pollen, and grass. Employees follow company safety practices and wear appropriate protective gear such as gloves, eye and ear protection, and sturdy work boots. All work is performed under the direction of M & M Contractors crew leaders at landscaping maintenance sites located in and around Parrish, Florida.
