***RFI Response*** Material Handlers assist with the physical handling and movement of goods within the employer’s warehouse and yard operations. The tasks and tools referenced in the original description pertain to standard, non-powered material-handling procedures. To clarify, workers will handle the following: Materials / Products: • Palletized and non-palletized freight, including packaged goods, boxed items, warehouse inventory, incoming shipments from vendors, and outbound materials staged for delivery. • Common warehouse stock such as parts, supplies, components, and general merchandise transported through the facility. • No hazardous materials, heavy industrial machinery, or specialized cargo requiring certification. Tools / Equipment Used (non-powered): • Hand trucks • Dollies • Manual pallet jacks • Manual pallet lifters • Push carts • Wheelbarrows • Straps, shrink-wrap, pallet bands, and other manual load-securing materials • Basic cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans, and rags Workers do not operate forklifts, powered industrial trucks, heavy machinery, or vehicles requiring certification, licensing, or special training. No equipment with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) applies to this position. Specific Tasks Performed: • Receiving and unloading materials delivered to the warehouse. • Manually moving freight to designated storage or staging areas. • Organizing, counting, labeling, and bundling materials. • Preparing items for outbound loads by palletizing, wrapping, or stacking. • Transporting goods across the warehouse or yard using non-powered equipment. • Assisting with the physical staging of products for pickup or delivery. • Maintaining proper order and flow of materials to support daily logistics operations. (2): Clarification of cleaning tasks and work areas The cleaning referenced in Item F.a.2 pertains strictly to maintaining safe and orderly work conditions within general warehouse and yard spaces. Cleaning Tasks Include: • Sweeping work areas, walkways, and staging zones to remove debris. • Wiping down and storing non-powered tools and equipment after use. • Clearing discarded packaging, shrink wrap, and pallet debris. • Keeping the loading bay, receiving area, and warehouse aisles free of clutter to support safe material movement. Work Areas Cleaned: • Warehouse floor and storage aisles • Loading docks and receiving bays • Material-staging areas • Outdoor yard areas where goods are placed temporarily for sorting or pickup No industrial sanitation, chemical cleaning, or equipment maintenance requiring special certification is performed. ***Original Duties*** Help production workers by performing duties requiring less skill. Duties include supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment.
