DUTIES: planting trees and shrubs, moving soil, sod, and mulch, assisting crew leaders with both manual tools and self-propelled machinery to excavate small trenches for irrigation pipes and installation of sprinklers (approx. 6” wide and 12” deep), pull, cut, and glue PVC sprinkler pipe, assist with installation of sprinkler lines, heads, and valves, assemble fencing by preparing site, excavate post holes (approx. 24” deep), attach top and bottom rails to fence posts using brackets, screws, or nails, set posts in concrete footings, hang gates in designated openings using hinges and latches, mow, blow, and edge during growing season, when necessary removing snow and removing ice from common areas, and clean up any debris from worksite. TOOLS include shovels, rakes, post-hole diggers, hammers, saws, wheelbarrows, as well as occasionally assisting senior team members with motorized machinery, a Ditch Witch, or a mini-Skid Steer. Employer provides all tools and transportation.
