***RFI Response*** Mobile amusement rides are designed to be assembled and disassembled in hours with manual labor and simple tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, rubber mallets, a variety of wrenches and ratchets. When heavy lifting is required, rides would have built in hydraulics for raising and lowering platforms, etc., so that additional equipment is not required. Once ride is positioned by a supervisor, workers would unload by hand, the various parts of the ride that must be assembled. Platforms and centerpieces would be positioned using the built-in hydraulic lifts and winches. Support bars and passenger conveyances would be positioned, and attached as per manufacturer instructions. Safety fence and signage, would be downloaded by hand and placed into position by hand. Popcorn: The popcorn machine is fixed on the counter. Worker would switch it on, scoop popcorn oil out of the container, using a measuring cup and pour it into the heating element. Worker would then scoop popcorn kernels out of the container, using a measuring cup and pour the kernels into he heating element. Worker would then scoop popcorn flavoring “Flavacol” from the container, using a measuring scoop and sprinkle this on the kernels. Worker would close the lid on the heating element, the popcorn would start popping, the lid would open due to the force of the popcorn, and the popped popcorn would fall into the bin. Worker would sprinkle the popcorn with additional flavoring, which would be in a shaker (like a saltshaker). Scoop the popcorn into individual popcorn boxes and place them onto the counter under a heat lamp. Another worker, when the popcorn was ordered by a patron, would take a container and then (depending upon what the patron requested) use the pumper to pump melted butter and/or shakers to sprinkle additional flavoring(s) onto the popcorn and then hand to the patron. Fountain Drinks: When an order comes in for a certain flavor of drink, size, ice/light ice/no ice, from a patron, the worker would prepare the proper size, flavor drink and place a plastic lid on the cup. Worker would place the drink into the serving area so that another worker, with direct contact with the patron, is able to provide the drink(s) to the patron, along with the balance of the order. ***Original Duties*** Perform a variety of duties at traveling carnival, assembling, disassembling & operating equipment (amusement rides, game and/or food concessions) May sell tickets & collect fees from customers; provide information about the facilities, rules and regulations; direct patrons to rides, seats or attractions; monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures; provide assistance to patrons entering or exiting amusement rides; clean rides, booths, facilities or grounds; inspect equipment to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs, adjustments, or maintenance tasks, such as oiling parts; fasten safety devices for patrons, or provide them with directions for fastening devices; announce or describe amusement attractions to patrons to entice customers to games and/or other entertainment; and sell and serve refreshments to customers.
