***RFI Response 2*** Job Duties: Installation of typical hardscape materials on landscape construction projects relating to golf courses, athletic fields, and parks. Workers will typically work with boulders, stone, pavers, decomposed granite, decorative edging, exposed aggregate surfacing, and other related materials for walkways, footings, walls, patios, driveways, curbs, retaining walls, benches and water features. Clearing sites of debris, vegetation, and unstable soil. Digging and changing the slope of the ground to achieve fine grade specifications and ensure proper drainage. Laying and compacting base layers of crushed rock or gravel to provide a stable foundation and ensure drainage. Applying joint sand between pavers to add stability and prevent weed growth, using a push broom. Applying landscape fabric to control weeds and improve durability. Line the water basin with a waterproof liner. Key tasks include project site preparation, laying mortarless pavers, and include tool maintenance, and site cleanup. Excavation, grading, compacting, and backfilling soil with hand shovel, grub hoe, digging fork for excavating soil, rakes for grading soil, and tampers for compacting soil. Workers also perform landscaping duties such as planting/sodding/seeding, watering. Loading and unloading of materials and equipment (boulders, stone, pavers, bags of sand/aggregate) around the job site. Lifting required up to 50 pounds. Work performed on local area jobsites with employer provided transportation to and from jobsites from a centralized pickup location in the specified area of employment. Boulders (larger decorative rocks of up to 2000 lbs. which are moved by bobcat utility vehicles) worker only assist in placement, stones (smaller decorative and rocks for bedding + weed control 1-2” diameter), pavers (segmental 4 to 12 pounds, 4x8 or 2-inch), decomposed granite (gravel and 3/8 inch), decorative edging (brick and stone), exposed aggregate surfacing (washed with water to expose stones and pebbles). All the rock and stone are installed manually using wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes also may assist bobcat skid loaders, utility vehicles, and bobcat mini excavators.
