Retrieve guest luggage from / to the ferry docks and unload / load luggage carts, sort luggage and deliver it to the appropriate guest room. Rotate between the three ferry docks and load / unload Mission Point Resorts guest’s luggage. Greet Mission Point Resort guests as they arrive to Mackinac Island and direct them to the resort. Be knowledgeable about the resort and the island to accommodate guest inquiries. Deliver bags to the resort by bicycle as needed if the shuttle is not available. Work with the taxi and ferry companies to ensure successful guest experience. Handle the incoming and outgoing luggage to be distributed for guests. Receive luggage tags from guests, locate luggage in bell stand and deliver to the guest’s room in a timely fashion. Prior to checkout, bellmen are to respond to guest calls in a timely manner to retrieve luggage from rooms and have them tagged properly and sent down to the ferry lines. Aid other resort personnel with the movement of luggage and or equipment and furniture if needed. Handle guest complaints and work with the guest services manager and supervisor to resolve issues. Consistently work with all members of the front office team to ensure a great guest experience. Work with other departments to make sure the resort is running at its best. Perform additional dockporter / bellhop duties as assigned. May perform other job duties pursuant to 39-6011.00 - Baggage Porters and Bellhops. F.a.5a-F.a.6b: 35 hours/week. 7+-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm, with 30-minute unpaid break each shift. 5 days per week, Sun-Sat. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies. F.b.8a: Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary. F.b.8a: Bonus available for full completion of agreed upon employment period. F.b.9: In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees.
