Perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks to assist with the installation and maintenance of outdoor spaces, including but not limited to: Prepare ground by raking, tilling, grading, and leveling soil. Plant, water, fertilize, prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, sod, and lawns, weed, mulch, and remove dead or unwanted plant materials. Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides under supervision. Mow, edge, and maintain turf using push and riding mowers, weed eaters, and blowers. Assist with installation of hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, edging, and stone or rock features. Lay sod, spread gravel, and assist with boulder and paver placement. Install and maintain irrigation systems, including digging trenches 3’ deep and 18” wide, lay irrigation piping, installing sprinkler heads, and assisting with drip lines. Help with construction and maintenance of ponds, waterfalls, and other water features, including plumbing of pumps and filtration systems. Load, unload, and transport materials (soil, plants, mulch, rock, gravel). Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment (hand tools, trimmers, hedge shears, chainsaws, blowers). Assist with operation of skid steers, trenchers, or compactors under supervision. Perform additional seasonal tasks such as leaf removal and irrigation winterization. May shovel snow as needed. Clean and maintain job sites by removing debris, trash, and unused materials.
