As a line cook, worker will maintain cleanliness of the kitchen throughout the day with light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, cleaning counters, and garbage disposal. Line cook will be responsible for the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen and ensure standard recipes are being followed on a consistent basis, assist with preparations of items to include but not limited to vegetables, meat, and preparing sauces. Line cook will ensure all dishes are uniformly made to specifications set out by the executive chef, demonstrate a sense of urgency for responding to guest needs during all interactions, perform daily stocking and re-stocking of all kitchen items as needed throughout the day with raw materials and ingredients, ensure all government, safety, health, and security standards are complied through the department at all times including HACCP standards, and monitor expiration of perishable items. The line cook will have a thorough understanding of all items on the menu and daily specials, ensure spoiled or damaged serving utensils are not used and, watch particularly for cracked or chipped china, glassware, prevent the use of contaminated products in any phase of food preparation, and ensure all government, safety, health, and security standards are always complied through the department. The worker will assist with inventory counts as requested, maintain all equipment to ensure it is properly maintained and handled, report any safety or maintenance concerns promptly to the executive chef, and ensure daily opening and closing responsibilities are completed accurately and consistent with the department’s standard operations procedure, and attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
