Assist skilled construction workers; position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts; smooth or finish poured cement/concrete and grind/scrape/sand/polish concrete using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools; break up concrete using jackhammers or drills; mix, pour, or spread concrete using portable cement mixers; shovel concrete, dirt, sand, gravel; haul forms, rebar and concrete tools by hand and wheelbarrows; assist in reinforcing rebar; organize and stack forms; clean/maintain construction tools or equipment; clean/prepare worksites; signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials; position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes; mark reference points on construction materials and measure work site dimensions; direct vehicle traffic in or around work zones; erect/dismantle temporary structures for construction; load/unload construction tools, materials, or equipment and distribute to appropriate locations; backfill excavations, compact and level dirt using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers and rakes; tend machines that pump or belt concrete, cement, grout, sand, plaster or stucco through spray guns; protect concrete surfaces and masonry structures; remove damaged/outdated materials or salvage useful materials; Mix substances/compounds to clean/seal/protect surfaces; mop/brush/spread or spray water, paints or cleaning solutions onto surfaces; apply caulking compounds by hand or caulk guns for protection; perform site activities required of green certified construction practices, such as implementing waste management procedures, identifying materials for reuse, or installing erosion or sedimentation control mechanisms.
