Sailing Attendants will be responsible for preparing Hobie Cats, ocean kayaks, paddle boards and other support equipment for daily rental, ensuring the safe operation rentals, performing sailing tours in a professional manner by checking weather and ocean conditions, fitting members and guests for life jackets, performing boat safety checks and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to management, and explaining safety protocols to members and guests, assisting guests and members with all water sports equipment needs with friendly and personalized service, completing breakdown of sailing center equipment including return of all chairs and tables to their proper place with attention to detail, ensuring cleanliness in work area, keeping beach free of all trash, set up chaise beach chairs and umbrellas as requested, coordinating towel service (distribution, organization, return of towels), maintaining all sailing and rental equipment to meet the needs of the guest throughout the day, pressure cleaning and bleaching beach equipment, learning the names and personally recognizing our regular Guests and Members, verifying rental vouchers match rental equipment, recording and billing orders accurately into the register system, processing payments using guest/member cards in accordance with accounting procedures, maintaining a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability, and reporting all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately. Sailing Attendants must be willing and able to become CPR and First Aid Certified within the first 30 days of hire and may be called upon to perform such tasks if needed. Sailing Attendants must know how to swim. Sailing Attendants will need to lift, carry, pull and push up to 75 pounds, intermittently, throughout shift. Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 5:00AM-12:00PM, 9:00AM-4:00PM, 11:00AM-6:00PM. Shift hours may vary. Please see job description for additional information.
