Cook II will be responsible for the preparation of the Restaurant menu’s more complex food items for lunch, dinner, and catering events as well as oversee that daily kitchen operations are flowing properly at DNC Parks & Resorts at Kings Canyon’s property. Cook II will use proper food preparation techniques and follow sanitation guidelines. Cook II will also be responsible for the set up and operation of kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, roasting ovens, blenders, mixers, electric knives, and cutlery for food preparation. Keep workstation clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked. If supervising Cook is unavailable, Cook II must have the ability to lead the kitchen during lunch periods by recognizing if staff are underperforming, or absent, and stepping in as needed to cover job duties such as dishwashing or assisting other Cooks. Cook II will also be responsible for notifying the supervising Cook of any underperformance or absence but will not be responsible for taking any further action. Able to stand for long periods of time including bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching. Able to lift 20lbs or more and work under variable temperatures. Responsibilities will also include ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail and move rapidly to coordinate multiple orders. Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shift: 5:00am - 12:00pm., 1:00pm - 8:00pm, and 5:00pm - 12:00am. Shift hours may vary. See attached job description for additional information.
