Responsible in assisting experienced Glaziers by helping fabricate and install windows and doors, keep a clean work area, as well as any general labor duties that the position requires. • Essential Duties: 1. ability to safely use hand and power tools and other equipment. 2. Maintain a clean work area. 3. Maintain a work area free of trip and fall hazards. The job duties of employee in assisting with window & door install & fabrication include: Window fabricator and Installer- • Measuring and cutting: Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, and drill materials like wood, aluminum, and UPVC • Assembling frames: Use hand, power, and machine tools to assemble window and door frames. • Installing glass: Install glass into frames and add fittings like handles and locks • Removing old windows: Remove old windows, doors, and frames from homes and businesses • Sealing fittings: Seal fittings • Cleaning: Clean the job site • Transporting supplies: Transport supplies Door installers are responsible for installing, servicing, or repairing doors for residential or commercial customers. Their duties can include: • Installation: Installing a variety of doors, including interior, exterior, automatic, wood, metal, sectional, and hinged doors • Measurements: Confirming measurements of windows and doors before work begins • Repair: Performing repairs on installed doors • Transporting supplies: Transport supplies • Cleaning: Cleaning up the job site other duties are replenishing supplies such as: nails, caulk, sealant, tapes, lumber, before heading to job site. Making sure batteries on drills are fully charged. Employees are expected to collaborate with their team to assess the safety of job sites, equipment, and tools. They should apply critical thinking to identify when supplies are running low or need restocking, which will enhance efficiency and productivity. Additionally, they may be called upon to help the team adjust their course of action in response to unexpected events, such as measurement errors. Employees should also become familiar with the tasks that can be delegated to them or their colleagues, using their critical thinking skills to understand their safe scope of practice and effectively communicate this with the team. Maintain a clean work area. 4. Maintain a work area free of trip and fall hazards. 5. Perform other duties as assigned which require similar knowledge, skills and abilities. Responsibilities and Expectations: Be an ambassador of TC Glass. Report to work on time each scheduled day, normally 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday and maintain regular attendance. Make decisions and solve problems. Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. Safely perform work duties using equipment provided. Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety. Report to work with proper hygiene and appearance suitable for interacting with the public and with appropriate boots, gloves and required tools. Listen carefully to Project Managers and owners and execute as directed. Be courteous and treat TC Glass employees, customers and the public with respect, regardless of the situation. Clearly communicate questions and/or concerns to supervisors when they arise. Maintain appropriate communications with supervisors and co-workers.
